Pours mahogany/copper with a thin white head. Smells of roasted malt, fruity, some tartness, dry, vanilla, earthy, peppery. Tastes of sweet malt, some roasty hints, pepper, earth, some dryness, oaky, some toffee, cognac. Velvety finish

Cask @ Flying Dog. Poured a slightly hazed amber color. The aroma was of whiskey and vanilla. Malty with some estery undertones. The flavor is a mix of whiskey, wood, esters and malt. Hint of tartness. Light to medium bodied.

Unlabeled 750 ml bottle that Chuck obtained. The beer pours to a thin looking pale amber red body with a thin white head. The aroma is sweet bock caramel aromas. Rich and sweet juniper berries? The flavor is moderate dark breads, fruity juniper berries, and crabapple. The palate is sweet and has tart gin characteristics.

On cask at Flying Dog. Deep hazy copper in color with no head. It was poured off a firkin and there was no carbonation. Vanilla woody aroma. Woody oak malty flavor. Vanilla and tart notes. Medium bodied. Finish is woody. Decent.

Deep copper pour no carbonation, tiny soapy head. Big sweet aroma, lots of carmels, some butters a hot acididc hop w/ a touch of whiskey and wood. Avg Pal. Real light whiskey w/ sweet vanillas, light oak, lots of carmels, a touch of wheaty grains. I like it much better than the regular version.

Bottle Christmas Present courtesy of a brew loving buddy. Amber/brown color, small off white head that had a short hang time then faded quickly to leave slight bit behind. The aroma was nicely malty with some hints of caramel and roastiness,a slight hint of possibly coffee or really dark chocolate. The flavor was very good malty flavor up front with some nice roast in there as well as a bit of caramel and some faint hints of chocolate and posiibly some fruit, but that only shows when the brew warms up a bit.Over all a fairly nice brew that is decently smooth and has just a hint of alcohol in the end.Well worth having again.

From the Firkin at the brewery. No head and not much carbonation. Lots of wood and vanila and some bourbon too. Flavors were similar with a lot al alchol burn in the finish. Not bad.
