Commercial Description:
“Garde Dog” Biere de Garde is unfiltered with a hazy, deep golden to light copper appearance. Brewed with domestically grown French Hops and German Pilsner Malts, it gives craft beer drinkers a very enjoyable, light-bodied, subtlety sweet beer with toasty malt undertones. Garde Dog is the perfect compleiment to lighter fare such as seafood, salads, cheese and Middle Eastern and Indian foods

(bottle - 12 oz) Slightly hazy golden color with a puffy white head. Aroma is yeast, spice, banana, and some light rubber. Flavor tastes a bit like a hefeweizen. Good citrus and bubblegum notes along with a light touch of wheat and some bananas. Finishes clean and grainy.

Bottled (CK, BB 01/2010). Pale golden, slightly hazy color, white, mostly vanishing head. Vegetably, banana aroma with light citrus and rubber - evident wheat here. Sweetish banana flavor with some lemony and bubblegummy notes. Quite watery body. This is tasting like German Kristallweizen, certainly very far from French Biere de Gardes.

Pours a hazy, golden color with a very small, white head. Aromas of lemon, grapefruit, hay, and light malts. Slick start and clean finish on the palate. Flavors of bananas, citrus, and hay. Although light on taste, good summer beer if you were seeking the session.

Poured a light golden yellow color. with very minimal head that quickly dissipated. smell is a bit fruity, banana like. In the taste im getting a little of the banana flavor again. And has a yeasty taste to it as well, not getting much if any hop bitterness at all. Overall this is okay, it has a good flavor, but its just lacking in the body, and mouthfeel for me. this is my first Bière de Garde so I will have to try some others to compare.

12 oz bottle from a variety pack purchased at EZ Liquors. Pours a flat golden body with a small bubbly white head that quickly and totally disipates. Aroma is the usual vegtable malts that seems to be consistant with all the Flyind Dog regular offering however this one has a touch of spice and something I can only describe as acorn. Flavor on this one is actually pretty decent, spicey, grainycereal malts and some biscuit, slight floral hops and very subtle mint notes. Not to bad considering it’s Flying Dog.

12 oz. bottle - Poured clear golden color with little head that faded quick. Aroma - wheat and light citrus. Flavor - Same as aroma with a bit of spice. Palate - thin/medium bodied with below average carbonation. Finish is dull and forgetable! Overall - Really not a horrible brew but far from great!! Tasted like a weak Tripel..

Crushed with Jakebra. Very sweet, biscuity aroma. Nose of a delicious delicious biscuit, but flavor is more like a coaster. Very sweet and thin-bodied. This brew isn’t quite as bad as the rating would suggest. But it’s not that good.

Bottle at Ølbaren, Copenhagen. Clear yellow coloured with a small white head. Fruity aroma of caramel with notes of spices. Fruity flavour of caramel with notes of spices and yeast. Yeasty finish. Watery and boring.
