Commercial Description:
“Garde Dog” Biere de Garde is unfiltered with a hazy, deep golden to light copper appearance. Brewed with domestically grown French Hops and German Pilsner Malts, it gives craft beer drinkers a very enjoyable, light-bodied, subtlety sweet beer with toasty malt undertones. Garde Dog is the perfect compleiment to lighter fare such as seafood, salads, cheese and Middle Eastern and Indian foods

This one had a definite funk to it, but it had those biere de garde flavors to it. The guy I tasted it with said it was a farmhouse/saison. I knew it was not. This was not a bad beer, but it was particularly heavy on that footy, sour cheese taste that accompanies most lower class marzon/octoberfests that I’m not a fan of.

Looks like piss and has no head at all. Taste is unremarkable with notes of cereal grains and some sugar. Has a subtle earthy hop flavor and aroma. It’s drinkable but not particularly enjoyable.

Bottle, $1.50. Pours pale gold with a clear body and an ephemeral head. Aroma has light esters and cane sugar. Front palate is fairly bland, with some grainy flavors and sugar. Finish lends more grassy tasting hops and lemon to the brew, but I can’t really get any character here. This is a tolerable drink, perhaps better than Tire Bite, but still below average. What is this style supposed to be?

Pours a color and head so similar to any american light beer that you couldn’t tell a difference. The head dies off rather quickly. The similarities end there. The smell is strong with spices and with a slight hint of fruit.Tastewise, it’s strong with spices, although not overpowering. Accompanied by some fruity sweetness, it’s neither boring nor powerful. This is the perfect beer for a nice warm spring day.Mouthfeel is very light, somewhat bubbely, and actually very acidic. It’s great for the taste, style, and appearance of the beer, otherwise it would actually be rather strange. This beer is very drinkable. It could be easily sessioned while sitting on the porch watching an april rainshower.

Pours a hazy golden body with small white head. Aroma of floral hops, caramel, white pepper, and faint fruit. Taste has bready malt, fruity sweetness, and grassy hops. Not bad, but not true to style.

Bottle - Pours a hazy golden amber in color with a small white head. Aroma is of slightly sweet malts and quite flowery hops. Flavor is fairly sweet, yeasty with flowery hops that are not too bitter. Hints of toasted malts and slightly sour on the finish. Palate is better than I expected.

Pours gold with a nice white head. Smells of dry malt, sweet sugar, some rosey hints. Tastes lightly bitter and dry with some fruity hints on the finish.

Poured from 12 oz bottle a nice dull golden, little to no foamy head. Aroma of faint hops, wheat and well water. Flavour of stale yeasty bread, hops, malt, and light spices. Really tasty beer, seems unappreciated. fairly decent.
