Commercial Description:
“Garde Dog” Biere de Garde is unfiltered with a hazy, deep golden to light copper appearance. Brewed with domestically grown French Hops and German Pilsner Malts, it gives craft beer drinkers a very enjoyable, light-bodied, subtlety sweet beer with toasty malt undertones. Garde Dog is the perfect compleiment to lighter fare such as seafood, salads, cheese and Middle Eastern and Indian foods

Bottle. Slightly cloudy, light golden pour with a medium-thick white head. Malty aroma with a bourbony undertone. Simple, malty taste with a bit of a dry, hoppy finish. Nothing very exciting here, but an ok backyard pre-meal BBQ beer.

[Bottle] Pours clear orange with a tiny white head. Aroma is quite yeasty with a good deal of malt and a slight spiciness. Taste is very malty and yeasty, with a little of the spiciness that was detected in the aroma--overall very simple. Average mouthfeel with a good, malty, somewhat dry finish. A simple beer, but it was drinkable and not offensive in any way.

Pours a perfectly clear golden colour with a slightly orange hue. No head, little lacing- initial corn aroma with green apples and somewhat pilsner like. Moderately carbonated, finishes long, one again- corn slightly grass with a tiny subtle hop finish.

12oz, its a style I like so I thought why not try it. Bought somewhere in Freeport. Pours gold with a bright white ring. Nose is yeasty and light. Taste is light and drinkable but pretty much just ok.

Bottle. Pours a clear yellow with small white head. Aroma is grainy and lightly spicy. Flavors are light and malty and grainy, with some spice and floral qualities but not a whole lot to describe here. Mouthfeel is kind of nice and fizzy. Not bad, not sure what I expected, but I enjoyed it when I had it.

Pours a clear dark orange color with zero head. Aroma is slightly earthy, a little bit of yeast, and some leather but all very faint. Flavor is rather uninspiring and flat. Some citrus gives way to a grassy sort of finish. Very light bodied and pretty easy to drink just not all that exciting.

Completely untrue to style, perhaps a BDG light. I do give Flying Dog props for experimenting with some better styles as of late though. Having said all that, I do find this very paleatable and fun to drink. Yeasy cookie dough maltiness, with some citrus and light fruit rinds, a hint of musky spiciness, but somewhat lacking on the body. Decent enough.

12oz bottle. Poured a medium golden color with a smaller sized white head. Aromas of grass, grains, yeast, and light spices. Tastes of fruitiness, lighter spices, biscuit, and some citrus. Thinner body.
