Commercial Description:
“Garde Dog” Biere de Garde is unfiltered with a hazy, deep golden to light copper appearance. Brewed with domestically grown French Hops and German Pilsner Malts, it gives craft beer drinkers a very enjoyable, light-bodied, subtlety sweet beer with toasty malt undertones. Garde Dog is the perfect compleiment to lighter fare such as seafood, salads, cheese and Middle Eastern and Indian foods

12oz bottle, served in a Chimay chalice. Beer is clearly filtered, not a speck of yeast in the glass or bottle. Aroma of pils malt, subtle candi sugar, and distant floral hops. The initial taste is sweet, grainy malt and some herbal and spicy notes. This is a biere de garde, but somewhat of a neutered version.

12oz. bottle. Nose of sweet malts, grainy and toasty with a touch of caramel, lightly fruity yeast, sulfur and mildly grassy hop. Hazy medium golden color, head subsiding to non-existence very quickly. Flavor is almost astounding in that it comes off like a pumped-up version of Heineken -- the malts are sweet and mild, the hops gently bittering, peppery and spicy, along with a certain Froot Loop character at the finish, complete with cereal-like grains. For lacking visible carbonation entirely, there is plenty to be found on the palate, while the body is light-medium. As it warms, a rather unwelcome vegetal character appears in the background. An unrefined, puzzling example of the style. At a certain point I thought I picked out some Flintstones© chewable vitamins, which is pretty weird.

12oz bottle(courtesy of RSRIZZO)-A slight haze golden body with a nice small white head and an aroma of slight malt. Taste of citrus and slight caramel and malt on the back end. A bit watered down for this light bodied brew. A little disappointed and was expecting more.

Pours a gold color with a HUGE white head. Flavor could use a little work. Overall I was disappointed.

Pours golden with small white head. Aroma is slight flowers and yeast. Flavor is a sweet explosion of fruity flavors subsiding into a sweet malty backbone. Not overly pronounced, but interesting. Palate is a bit watery, and resembles a pilesner. Nothing outstanding here, but interesting just the same.

bottle poured into a shaker has a golden color and a fizzy one finger white head that fell quickly. aroma of pilsner malt, sweet floral yeast, caramel, and biscuit. mouth feel is thin with lighter carbonation. flavor has plenty of pilsner malt, corn sweetness, yeasty spice, and a very subtle touch of hops. this is alright for a summer brew.

Cloudy gold pour with a fizzy head. Bready malt and yeast aroma. Very light malty flavor with hints of yeast and spice. A bit watery on the palate. No big deal.
