Commercial Description:
“Garde Dog” Biere de Garde is unfiltered with a hazy, deep golden to light copper appearance. Brewed with domestically grown French Hops and German Pilsner Malts, it gives craft beer drinkers a very enjoyable, light-bodied, subtlety sweet beer with toasty malt undertones. Garde Dog is the perfect compleiment to lighter fare such as seafood, salads, cheese and Middle Eastern and Indian foods

Bottled: Nothing to special about this beer. Malty smell with a clean, dry, crisp taste. Decent beer though.

Bottle. Poured a yellowish color with a small white head. Aroma is very dry and yeasty. Some earthy aromas mixed in as well. Taste is very dry and earthy. light hops hidden well. Very earthy. Not great.

Pale gold with a quickly gone head. Aroma is a light biscuit, with a bit of pepper. Light hops, not that sweet, a bit forgettable but unobjectionable.

12 oz bottle-pours a thin white head with yellow/gold color with effervescence. Aroma is dry, yeasty, slight musty, grain/husky. Taste is slightly sweet light malt/grain/husky, dry yeasty, slightly musty. Some continental hops bite. Lager-ish blended with some mild Biere de Garde. So it’s kind of at the border of the style, but nice. OK carbonation.

Wow. What a letdown. Almost no taste other than being a bad pale ale. There is no biere de garde in this one. Too bad since they make a great imperial porter. Big disappointment.

Bottle. Poured a dark ornage bodyw ith thin head. Aroma was very faint, some yeast and spices noted. Flavor is lightly earthy, yeast, orange peel and some other spices that I had a tough time to tell what they were, or flavor, because everything in this beer was very faint and forgettable. I wouldn’t say this is a bad beer but it has nothin going for it.

my first for this style. i liked this very much. if this is a bad example of the de garde, i am certainly going to seek out a good example because i enjoyed the hell out of this. pours a golden yellow color with a small white head, aroma was sweet with some citrus to it. flavor was the same and very refreshing.

Bottle from Foodery. Straw gold color, fleeting head. Very little aroma or taste. Slight grainy malt. Summer beers are often blander than Summer movies.
