Commercial Description:
“Garde Dog” Biere de Garde is unfiltered with a hazy, deep golden to light copper appearance. Brewed with domestically grown French Hops and German Pilsner Malts, it gives craft beer drinkers a very enjoyable, light-bodied, subtlety sweet beer with toasty malt undertones. Garde Dog is the perfect compleiment to lighter fare such as seafood, salads, cheese and Middle Eastern and Indian foods

Bottle. I was disappointed with this one. It can be described as overall "light". Very light aroma, color, and taste. Nothing stands out at all. However, it is refreshing and has a clean crisp finish.

A very light farm house style which is good for drinking with everyday meals, but does not stand out in the flavor section.

Pours a clear pale golden with a decent but brief white head. Looks like a slightly darker macro lager. Aroma is nearly non-existant; maybe some sweet malt. Sweet malt taste along with some spiciness and mild hops. Not a lot going on here, but it is well balanced and refreshing.

Pours a clear straw with a thin white head. Smells like fruit cocktail with some farmhouse notes. Sweet honey flavor. Not that enjoyable actually.

Very clear golden body with a medium frothy white head. Light caramel and honey with some floral hops. Very light flavor, some cheerios, light honey, slight graininess and more floral hops. Light body with moderately high carbonation.

Bottle. Pours a clear, very bubbly gold with an average size mostly-lasting fizzy white head. Aroma’s grainy along with some light toastiness, caramel and some sweetness. It’s also a bit vegetal. Flavour’s sweet and grainy, a bit watery and not very flavourful. I’m also not loving the finish, it’s bitter but there’s something else there too that I don’t care for. Thin bodied. Bah, this isn’t much better then a cheap Lager, it’s boring and not very good -- I certainly wouldn’t drink it again. Fail.

Decent brew. Not at all to style, but not especially horrible or offensive, either. Very weak on the appearance- unexciting tan color, virtually no head. Weak aromas, too- some nutty malty smells mingle with some spicy sharp notes. Unexciting but not offensive on the flavor- some toasted almonds and chestnuts, some spicy sharp hop notes, and a grainy sweetness. Only standout aspect would be palate/drinkability- great crisp finish, goes down very easy. Great beer to have while grilling... save the better brews for once the brats are done!

12oz bottle courtesy Ian. Light pale gold pour with a thick white head. Light fruity grassy aroma. Taste is malty sweet and fruity. Definitely a lawnmower beer, very easy to drink and light, but nothing special.
