| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jun 8, 2008 12 ounce bottle from City Market in Burlington, VT (June 2008) served not much above fridge temperate (hey, it’s hot here!) from a Duvel glass. Luminous, bright and just a touch hazy golden body surmounted by a massive smooth fine-bubbled and very slow to fade headthat leaves zero lacing.....aroma offers a bit of nice bready malt, hints of citrus and coriander, but is severely disfigured by an underlying vegetal edge....body is lightly sweet at the front, firmly malty-doughy in the middle, somewhat dry and mineralic at the finish; no real earthy qualities, heck not really much character at all; it’s a mediocre, drinkable golden ale with really no BDG style notes at all. Oh well, I didn’t really expect much more from this brewery... rudolf (1783), Buffalo, New York, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jun 8, 2008 Crystal clear gold body, fluffy white head. Nose is pineapple, fruity bubblegum, lightly toasted bready malt, overly sweet plasticy fruit. Flavor is more of that pineapple, a cloyingly sweet maltiness, some DMS or Diacetyl. Maltiness is that of a Marzen but the body is so big that I’m reminded of cough syrup. JK (2964), Richfield, Minnesota, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 8, 2008 Aroma of lager malt and lager yeast. I’m not even sure this is an ale. Gold color and quickly fading white head. Some carbonation. Sweet lager flavor. Very simple, it tastes like a quality lager but not really a biere de garde. | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jun 7, 2008 Thin white head of fine bubbles. Light carbonation. Light yeasty and grassy aroma with some lemon and light cereal malts. Color is a deep golden orange. Distinct sweetness to this brew that I did not expect. Bready malts, more lemon and straw. Slight tartness late swallow. Finishes a bit sweet and cloying. Probably won’t seek this one out again. Skyview (4076), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 6, 2008 Shared by badgerben and BDR. Pours a semi-clear golden yellow brew with a thin white head that dissipates to a thin ring. Aroma of golden grain malt with corn grits, some honey, dry herbs and a touch of citrus zest. Taste is light to medium bodied, plenty of carbonation with flavors of corn grits, green vegetables and a touch of citrus. Finish is semi-sweet, some malty character that quickly turns crisp. Missing some of the biscuit character I am used to in Bière de Garde style, but still okay. badgerben (3605), Blaine, Minnesota, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jun 6, 2008 Yellow color with a thin head. Very corny aroma. Light grain and corn flavor with a dry, German/Noble hop flavor. A bit vegetal. Not even close to a Biere de Garde; more of a lightly hopped Helles. josarah (106), Hinesburg, Vermont, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jun 4, 2008 12oz bottle; light aroma, small white head, golden color. A nice malty beer that did not taste like a garde to me. Like I said a nice beer, but nothing special. Shag (1923), Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 2, 2008 Golden color with a white head. The aroma contains corn, honey, and some spices. The flavor is rather sweet with candi sugar, citrus, and honey. The finish is slightly sweet. Overall this is pretty boring but not offensive
