Commercial Description:
“Garde Dog” Biere de Garde is unfiltered with a hazy, deep golden to light copper appearance. Brewed with domestically grown French Hops and German Pilsner Malts, it gives craft beer drinkers a very enjoyable, light-bodied, subtlety sweet beer with toasty malt undertones. Garde Dog is the perfect compleiment to lighter fare such as seafood, salads, cheese and Middle Eastern and Indian foods

Pours a clear golden with a tiny short lived and a small amount of carbonation. Aroma is musty caramel. Flavor is a nice hop / malt balance with some spice, fruit and honey. It is mostly thin but has an interesting oiliness. Pleasant and refreshing.

Bottle. Pour is golden with no head or lace. Nose is almost non-existent too, maybe a little toasted malts. Flavor has some mild sweetness, more toasted malts, some grassy hops in the finish. Flavor is much better than aroma. Finish is clean.

bottle. pours light copper with barely any head. smells is corn and light malts. taste is corn and a bit of peach. has some alcohol in the finish. drinks much like a macro lager, thin and watery with an odd thickness that develops in your mouth. disappointing.

Pours clear orange/amber with a fizzy white head. Aroma is light fruit with a peachy note. Light body, carbonated. Flavor had notes of barley and fruit. Pretty plain.

this is a pretty poorly executed beer. it is espically a disappointment for flying dog. this is very thin and reeks only of corn, bad malt and cereal. it is almost identical to a horrid american mainstream macro, maybe worse. i am not so astounded that i drank a beer i did not like, i am astounded that it is this beer from this brewery. what were they thinking? at best, its just boring. but it actually tastes poor, like a multitude domestics, all chock full of corn and other adjuncts. the fact that it actually says ’saison’ on the label is the final insult. trying to write this off as ’it would be good on a hot day’ is nonsense, ill stick with gatorade, water or maybe even a real saison

Aroma is a faint malt and corn scent. Color is a bright gold with good carbonation and a thin head. Taste is thin and weak. Starting with a light body that goes down with a creamy feel. Finish comes in with a sour malt taste and a little bitterness. After taste gets a hint of alcohol. Not my kind of brew.

on tap @ papago. crystal clear golden color with a small white head. lightly sweet aroma with notes of pale malt, bready yeast, caramel and something vegetal akin to canned corn water. the palate is too sweet for the amount of payoff... which is nil. the flavor is heavy on the yeast with spice, grassiness, tartness and dried herbs in the back ground. there’s a strange lager-y bad malt liquor finish that’s hard to describe... very vegetal. light body with high prickly carbonation. there’s not a whole lot right going on with this.

Bottle poured a clear golden yellow with a small disapating white head. Aromas of straw, yeast and a hint of spice. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a lightly dry finish. Flavors of straw and light spice with a crisp lightly dry finish.
