Clear golden pour with a thin head. Malty aroma with some grassy hops. Flavor is sweet and highly carbonated. Maybe some fruit on the back-end but overall, it’s pretty boring. Lingering sweetness into the finish.

Bottle into Duvel glass. Mostly clear gold to amber color with a frothy white head. Few spots of lacing. Slight sourness initially in the aroma, with a wet hay note, then becoming mostly sweet and bready. Mildly sweet cereal malt flavor, with white toast, citrus and grassy notes. Wet finish with a trailing sweetness. Not terrible tasting, but lacks any real dimension or musty cellar traits I’d expect from the style. One step removed from an insipid golden ale.

Bottle pours a clear golden yellow with a slim white head. Mild aroma of honey, and sweet malts. Sweet flavor, but not much else. Slightly dry winelike finish. I’d have to say this is my least favorite of the Flying Dog family so far. Disappointing because I’ve really enjoyed their brews up until now. Not terrible, just not up to par with their other selections.

12oz bottle, my first biere de garde, not really sure what to expect from the style, but this one is a typical beer like amber, not deep just kinda orange, taste is boring and plain, but also great for summer days. there is some malty sweetness that follows the beer, and pretty much dominates the taste, initial thought was budweiser without grainy adjuncts. not bad, not great, nothing to really seek out again.

Clear gold pour with a small white head. Aroma is grassy, faintly floral, light fruits, yeasty, and bready. Doughy flavor with a light pepperyness, some slight fruit and yeast notes, with a subtle spicy floral hop finish. Medium-thin body.

Good stuff, i just had one about an hour ago, and it is what it says. a great beer for the spring and summer. the label is pretty funny too it makes fun of the french

Looks like a Budweiser with an oversized head. I’m not mad at that. I’m also not mad at Flying Dog for deciding to try and tackle this style. I’m not even mad that there’s not much going on in the aroma since I do pick up some tantalizing fruitiness and only the faintest hint of wet grain. What I’m mad about is that there’s really nothing going on with the flavor other than some cheap malty sweetness that reminds me of some crappy strong Euro lagers and there’s noticeable alcohol in the finish even though there’s not much alcohol in the beer. Then there’s skunked wine thing going in the middle that really ruins everything. I’m glad I only bought a single.

Pour is warm golden with a thin off white head...smell is honey, pepper, and some other fruity esters...taste is lightly sweet and bread dough malty (dinner roll)...thin and too sweet....very disappointing...
