| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Apr 28, 2005 Pours a dark straw color with a short fluffy white head that hangs around. Lots of carbonation rising off of the bottom in the glass. Aroma is malt with a little pear/apple in the background. Flavor is mostly malts. Doesn’t seem to contain any hops.. Seems a very simple brew On the palate it is not very full bodied and sweet starting finishing dry and not blending it’s flavors very well together. Cool label but maybe they should spend less time designing labels and more on designing beers... Not a drain pour but not something I’ll remember next spring when I’m looking for a good bock. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 23, 2005 12 oz bottle pours a clear bright copper with a small off white head that leaves some lacing in my glass. Fruity apple aroma, bread, honey, apple and caramel flavors, medium bodied with a soft and full mouthfeel, finishes with a mild sweetness, an average bock. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 20, 2005 From a bottle. Sorta skunky and breadlike aroma. Deep yellow color. Sweet at the beginning and sour at the finish. Typical mouthfeel. I drank this last year and enjoyed it more. Either my taste has changed or the beer. envane (251), Evanston, Illinois, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Apr 19, 2005 Light, even for a maibock. Big alcohol in the nose. Also taste. Malts flavour is all wrong. Dry for the style. Basically, this is more a "european strong lager" and not even a good one. muzzlehatch (4427), Burlington, Vermont, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Apr 14, 2005 12 oz bottle. Very light, clear copper-amber with a thick lasting white head...malty, herbal nose with a bit of sourness...plain sugary front on the tongue, dry malty backbone, some rye bread, full body, touches of alcohol and tobacco. There’s some interesting stuff here, but it doesn’t seem to fit well together and on the whole this is a simpering, pedestrian effort that just doesn’t have the guts a bock needs. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 9, 2005 A good beer. Malty aroma stands out. Gold color with a decent head that will disiapate. Good Lacing left on the glass. Hop bite was the flavor and that made this beer cool and crisp on the palate. robertsreality (2460), Minnesota, USA
