Commercial Description:
Big malty flavors, including licorice and chocolate, are balanced with a moderate hop profile. Brewed with copious amounts of prized malts and flaked oats, the Barley Wine is so strong that it has to be aged for several months before we can bottle it. Like a fine wine, it will continue to improve with age up to 2 years after bottling (If kept cool).

The aroma is sweet, almost like molasses or licorice with alcohol. It pours thick and brown. The flavor is too sweet and malty but there is not enough balance to distract from the alcohol.

12oz bottle. Pours murky brown with no head. Aroma is of caramel, malt, spice, hops, and alcohol. Taste is spicy, with caramel, malt, dried fruit, and hops. Overly sugary, with the alcohol overpowering the other flavors. Weak all around.

Pours red/brown with quickly fading beige head. Nose is very similar to a belgian quad, banana and stewed fruits that are quite overt. Malt offers sweet honey/caramel. Palate is more what i expected, significant woody characters with medium bitterness and faintly sweet malt in the finish. Carbonation is relatively lively and alcohol is evident but never overpowers. Too young i think, would benefit from medium term cellaring. Definitely has potential though!

Weak beige head. Brown colour. Aroma is malty, sweet with candy sugar, dark fruits and light coriander notes. Flavor is malty too with candy, prunes and alcohol tones, ending in a moderately fruity, metallic and sightly woden finish. medium to full bodied.

pours very dark brown, mahogany color. I got no head outta this one, so no real lacing to speak of either. BIG malty taste with this one, a little bit sweet, not sure if i could drink more than 2 or 3 for that reason. Has just enough hops to balance out the malt just a bit, but is not bitter whatsoever. more i drink it the sweeter it seems to get. not sickening sweet just yet, but im thinkin maybe i could now only drink one of these bad boys at a time. Alcohol is also hidden very well in this one.

Beautiful dark ruby with tiny light beige head. Nose is alcohol, some dried fruits, syrup and grainy maltiness. Toffee malty flavor with liquorice, glue, syrup and tangy hops. Full bodied, smooth sticky palate. This one seems to be mostly about the ABV, no distinct flavors. It sure won’t make my night.
