Cant think of a more balanced barley wine than this. Poured with a nice head an plenty a lace. Pleasing rich dark amber color. Fruity bittersweet. Balanced. A tad boozy in the finish. N ’ats it. I just like big beers, and this isn’t one. Everything you love ina barleywine, but toned way down. Malt backbone, hop profile. Very smooth and drinkable, just not what I want in a BW. abcfan (247), New Jersey, USA

Aroma is dark fruit, molasses, caramel and BOOZE. Very smooth malty taste on the tongue with little carbonation. Very dry biting finish. Decent overall for the style. Aroma of alcohol, dark beyond-ripe fruit, and raisins. Flavor is malt, raisin puree and alcohol. Not a good barley wine, in my humble opinion. scoth (274), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA

Pours dark brown, and cludy with a thin head and a little bit of lacing. Very malty aroma, smells a little like figs. The alchohol smell is strong. Thick and slightly sticky body. Sweet tasting and malty up front, with hints of fig, rasins, and molasses. There are some citrus tasting hops, but they are very understated in the flavor, though there is some bitterness. Most of the flavor really waits to jump out until the after taste. RichardGretton (3140), Leicestershire, England
