Commercial Description:
Big malty flavors, including licorice and chocolate, are balanced with a moderate hop profile. Brewed with copious amounts of prized malts and flaked oats, the Barley Wine is so strong that it has to be aged for several months before we can bottle it. Like a fine wine, it will continue to improve with age up to 2 years after bottling (If kept cool).

Bottle. Pours amber with a lasting creamy beige head. The nose is sweet caramel malt, licorice and toffee. The flavour is sweet caramel malt, toffee, licorice and berry fruitiness. Nice balance and has a pleasant warmth from the alcohol. Easy to drink and savour. Enjoyed this barley wine a lot more than the last few brands I’ve had over the months. I’ll store a bottle to see if it improves more over time. It’s great as it is though!

It poured a hazy brown-amber liquid with a medium sized dirty white foam. It had a strong smell of caramell, malt, whine and an alcoholic finish. It tasted the same way with a thich and heavy taste of caramell, malt and a warm alcoholic finish. A well done barley wine that I really enjoyed.

Please drink it on a higher temperature! It will be better for You and better for the beer too!
Poured hazy brown with a small off white head. Intensive resiny-fruity hop in the aroma with caramel and some malt. Well hidden alcohol in the oily body with the leader character of the fine and delicious resiny-fruity hop, tons of malt, hidden honey and cinnamon... If You drink it at christmass, the evening will be peacefull...;)

On tap at Quivey’s Grove Beer Fest. Pours deep brown color with off-white small head. Very malty aroma with a mix of caramel apple, molasses and alcohol. Flavor is malty, cocoa, wood and dark fruit flavors. I expected a strong alcohol finish or burn, but I did not get it. I could tell it was a high ABV, but it was not harsh at all. One of the tops from the day.

An unclear brown beer with little head. The aroma is sweet, fruity, & alcohol. The taste is like fruit punch with alcohol & a bad aftertaste that leaves an unpleasant taste of metal in your mouth. My God this beer is bad, this is a very unenjoyable beer that almost got poured down the drain.

12 ounce bottle purchased at South Bay Drugs ($2.69). Pours a deep ruby-brown color with thin layer of off-white head. Aroma of sweet caramel, grapes, berries, anise, and alcohol. Much of the same in the flavor: caramel/toffee dominate but there are other flavors of dark fruit, alcohol, and a bit of chocolate. Finish is more sweet than bitter with some alcohol burn. Good, but a little too sweet and lacks the level of complexity of many other barley wines.
