Aroma of mostly dough malt and light hops. The flavor is mostly robust pale malt with dough characteristics and a slight grapefruit hop finish with lots of alcohol that wasn’t really offensive but was definitely not hidden well. A very warm beer. Medium bodied. Overall: fine beer, and potent, but not close to the best example of the style. punkrkr27 (614), Berkley, Michigan, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 11, 2008 Opaque mahogany pour with a ruby highlight and a small off-white head. Lots of sweet roasted malt aroma with some plum, grapefruit, and raisin. Licorice, cocoa and roasted malts definitely dominate the flavor with notes of molasses, orange peel and fig with a kick of alcohol at the end. Creamy medium body with a good dose of carbonation. Decent complexity but it just doesn’t blend quite as nicely as a good barley wine should. Baumgartner (108), Eau Claire, Wisconsin, USA

Deep redish/brown hue with an average white head. Heavily roasted Malt flavor and moderatly hopped to balcnce. Fairly lond after taste to follow. Turns slightly acidic at the finish. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 7, 2008 Bottle at my new home in London:) Aroma is big rich sweet malt, mollasses character and some berry character. Taste is similar, big and super malty, like still alright an does the job, but a bit too rich and malty to be great. MitchWayne (264), Kokkola, Finland
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Aug 7, 2008 It’s barley wine and not available here that much so every new one I can taste is bound to get a positive rating. Nothing earth shattering but still a nice sweet barley wine, missing the crucial bite to make this much more than an above average barley wine in my books. mabel (2590), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Hazy, dark red brown body with a medium-lasting creamy off-white head and lots of stagnant floaties. Burnt grain malt flavour with sweet toasted yeast, hints of coffee, and a bit of medium boozy wood notes. Medium-full body. Interesting, nice balance. petermadsen (391), Vesterbronxxx, Denmark
