FishManLA (284), Abita Springs, Louisiana, USA Jun 23, 2008 Pours a murky maroon color with a small head that leaves almost no lacing. Nose of nuts and dark fruit. Flavor of apple, pear, berries, wood, and nuts. Hints of alcohol, but it’s pretty well hidden. Dry fruity finish. Not at all bad. Something strikes me a little bit "funny" about the nose and taste. Can’t quite put my finger on it. 12many (231), Ohio, USA Jun 23, 2008 Dark burgundy amber with a small unimpressive head that disappears quickly. Aroma is muted but it has some chocolate and roasted malt. Flavor is the same but more prominent than the aroma. Mildly warm in the throat. Decent. jmw141 (134), Canton, Illinois, USA Jun 22, 2008 Bottle pour. Pours a weird hazy dark orange/red/brown color with a light brown head that doesn’t stick too much. A light malt/chocolate/roasty aroma mixed with some banana, red wine, licorice, and alcohol. Moderate sweet flavor and light bitterness with a dash of alcohol on the throat. Longer finish that I would have liked. The bitterness hides then shows up with a spark. dirt55 (149), Washington, USA Jun 20, 2008 bottled, pours deep brown/red with very small brown head, sweet almost strawberry aroma, sweet with strong alcohol taste up front with chocolate lingering with more hops then expected, not bad more bitter then others in its class MrBunn (1518), Western, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 19, 2008 Bottle. Pours a dingy brown with a small head and sweet and fruity aromas. Flavor is decent but alcohol gives a bit of a zing that can be obnoxious. Dark fruit flavors, toffee malt and a peppery hops finish... sersdf (1000), chicago, Illinois, USA Jun 17, 2008 plum brown with white head. microparticulate. smells of fake sugar. mustard. a vat of rotten fruit. tastes of rancidized jelly mixtures. and they don’t even have fats. joekinty (263), rockledge, Florida, USA Jun 14, 2008 yep i had it it is pretty good jesus is the reason for the season ...........................................................at christmas time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! follow your roots! JorisPPattyn (5155), Antwerpen, Belgium Jun 12, 2008 Red-brown beer, full of small UFO’s with an amber-cream head, leaving impressive lacerings. Very fruity, sweet-grainy & alcohol nose. Fruit on alcohol, like oranges or so in a real sangria , but more syrupy. Very rich fruity-cake taste, alcohol (with its additional sweetness) obvious. Wry prunes, discreet but present hops. Old, madeirisated winerest. Thick, alcoholwarming, rich voluptuous MF. Excellent, if not blasting B.W. Among the best of Flying Dog.
