| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 3, 2008 Bottle, pours dark brown with a moderate beige head. Aroma and flavor are sweet, a little too sweet for a barleywine, in my opinion. Had that quality about it that leaves the glass very sticky by the end of the experience. For that reason alone, I don’t think I could recommend this beer as a good selection. RblWthACoz (963), Brooklyn, New York, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Feb 2, 2008 Pours a very dark brown. Tan head. Nose is like juicy raisins and cotton candy. Strong firm sugar candy-like tones rule here. Flavor is sticky sweet. Just screams sugar in your mouth. Molasses and anise character really sticks out. Feel is thick and full at first, but it falls off very quickly. I kind of feel like this one needs a lot more time to relax and mature in the bottle. Seems too much a kick in the mouth and not enough style and grace.

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 1, 2008 12oz bottle. A hazy, deep brown pour with a small beige head, light lacing. Great aromas of candied dark fruits (plums, raisins.....ect). A light hop bite was present as well. Flavor was sweet and malty. Finish was thick and syrupy. Overall a pretty good barely wine. marcus (1850), Sacramento, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 1, 2008 This dark brown ale poured with a decent tan head and a strong raisin aroma. There is a strong licorice flavor - also raisin and brown sugar with a long chalky finish. MadIndian (992), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA

Malty, raisin/dark fruit aroma. Mild hop bitter finish with an alcohol pop. It was a rather good beer. dchmela (1426), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 30, 2008 Pours dark malty brown with almost no head. Very malty aroma with a hint dried fruit, brown sugar, and caramel malt . Taste is smooth and malty with just a hint of roasted malt and maybe a little bit of the hops. The malt hides some of the hops, but you get a little of the hop bitterness in the finish. Definitely a very malt driven barley wine and will be interesting with some aging. Barely opaque burnt orange/copper color with a smallish head. Good lacing. Aroma of brown sugar, raisins, figs, toffee. Heat is there, but under control. A very nice barley wine.
