Commercial Description:
Big malty flavors, including licorice and chocolate, are balanced with a moderate hop profile. Brewed with copious amounts of prized malts and flaked oats, the Barley Wine is so strong that it has to be aged for several months before we can bottle it. Like a fine wine, it will continue to improve with age up to 2 years after bottling (If kept cool).

Pours ruby hued with small, quick-diminishing off-white head. Aroma of caramel, vanilla, banana, alcohol. Taste is very sweet up front and all the way through to the finish. Caramel, raisin, chocolate, sweet malt, alcohol. Alcohol is strongly present but not overwhelming enough to take away from the flavor. This is pretty good, a little too sweet and alcohol isn’t very well hidden.

Pours ruby amber with a thick tan head. Aroma is cherry, vanilla, alcohol, honeysuckle, and some nut. Taste is very roasty with sweet caramel as well then a noticeably bitter chocolate and toffee finish. Smooth texture with the alcohol hidden well. Very well made beer.

Pours a deep red with a perfect small head that lingers. Aroma is of molasses, toffee, a little chocolate too actually. Very malty aroma also. Flavor is of sweet flower, burnt malts, and the booze is quite apparent here. Mouthfeel is smooth, medium carbonation. Not the best barleywine ever, but very drinkable, smooth, pleasant. Overall, good plus.

Bottle 35,5 cl. Pours a nice reddish brown with a small and fading white head and a sweet aroma of malts, brown sugar, rhum, vanilla, alcohol and some hops. The taste is sweet and a bit alcoholic too, with notes of liquorice, chocolate, dark and ripe fruits, lots of sweet malts, dried fruits (raisins and figs), brown sugar and some hops. The finish is both sweet and alcoholic with a sticky, sugarry mouthfeel that stays for a long time.

Pours a clear, dark amber color with a thin off-white head. Aroma is of malts, molasses, mild hops, and is quite sweet. Tastes of heavy malts, very light hops, caramel, raisins, licorice, and sweet fruits. Medium creamy body with a slightly hoppy and alcoholic finish. Overall pretty good.
