| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 17, 2002 Dated 2001. Chestnut colored with a thick beige head and fair carbonation. Malt and alcohol nose. I must have had this at a good temperature because I thought the flavor came through very well. Malt, caramel, chocolate and alcohol played well together. I don’t know if I would want to drink a bottle from this year considering how good this one tasted. BMan1113VR (2854), Los Angeles (and Dallas), Texas, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 30, 2008 I liked this one. Marked as 10.2%. Small, creamy, off-whitee head with a murky amber body. Decent lacing, as far as retention goes, the head reverts to just a ring in about 2 and a half minutes. Aroma is of sugar, seeded fruites, and chocolate malts. Flavor is of licorice, vanilla, chocolate, alcohol, coffee grounds and dates. Creamy mouthfeel, light carbonation, noticable alcohol. austinpowers (2828), New York, New York, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Dec 25, 2002 Quite bitter. Not as thick and barleywineish as I’d expected. Smoky and earthy, as well. Glouglouburp (2826), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 18, 2007 Cloudy brown body with a few big bubbles acting as a head. The attack is hard-toffee that turns into raisins pie towards the finish. As it warmed-up it started to develop other random fruity notes and each sip seemed different from the last. The beer is actually quite tasty despite a surprisingly light body. Forget about the thick rich malted body of the great Barley Wines. Barely noticeable hops. In-your-face warming alcohol. Good beer but below average for the style. Erratic and aggressive… Horny Dog. Pinball (2813), Allerød, Denmark

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 5/5 | 12/20 | Oct 17, 2008 355ml bottle bought at SuperBest in Valby. Cool label logo. Pours a deep, red-brown body under a thin, off-white head. Firm malty to the nose. Has also got a malty taste profile with caramel notes and alcohol beneath. Vague bitter endnote. Flat carbonation. Alright, but a rather monotonous Barley Wine (Tromsø, 14.10.2008).
