It is sweet, acidic, murky, smoky, chocolaty, alcoholic, woody, ha, a Horn Dog with a woody presence, funny, ha! Ok, sorry, that was totally perverted and uncalled for. - But really, this beer is very heavily malted with a fruity, fig, apricot flavor and nose. Overall a very nice strong Barley Wine, I recommend it. bitter (1137), Henderson, Nevada, USA

Nose of malt and alcohol. Thick, almost cloying mouthfeel with predominate carmel flavor. Some hops bitterness in the finish with little hop aroma or flavor. Not a bad barlleywine, but I’’ve had much better. Gregis (1132), Shawnee, Kansas, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 5, 2008 2007 Vintage. Bottle courtesy of kmweaver. Thanks for this nice bonus, Ken. Pours a hazy mahogany with a creamy light tan head and sticky cascading lace. The nose is of slightly boozy fermenting plums, raisins, brown sugar and light spicy hops. Medium-bodied and creamy-slick with a dry "warm" finish. The flavor is fairly alcohol-forward with solid fruity notes that follow the nose, finishing with a dry, moderately spicy hopped finish. This bottle might have benefited from a bit more aging. It’s not a bad beer, but it isn’t an especially inspired barley wine either. dolemike1 (1129), Jeannette, Pennsylvania, USA
