Commercial Description:
Big malty flavors, including licorice and chocolate, are balanced with a moderate hop profile. Brewed with copious amounts of prized malts and flaked oats, the Barley Wine is so strong that it has to be aged for several months before we can bottle it. Like a fine wine, it will continue to improve with age up to 2 years after bottling (If kept cool).

2007 Vintage. Bottle courtesy of kmweaver. Thanks for this nice bonus, Ken. Pours a hazy mahogany with a creamy light tan head and sticky cascading lace. The nose is of slightly boozy fermenting plums, raisins, brown sugar and light spicy hops. Medium-bodied and creamy-slick with a dry "warm" finish. The flavor is fairly alcohol-forward with solid fruity notes that follow the nose, finishing with a dry, moderately spicy hopped finish. This bottle might have benefited from a bit more aging. It’s not a bad beer, but it isn’t an especially inspired barley wine either.

12oz bottle from SBD. Pours a dark caramelly brown color with a thin, izzy, tan head that fades quick and leaves specks of lace. Smells of sweet malts and a good dose of alcohol. Tastes sweet and raisiny and malty. Alcohol flavors as well. Full body, crisp carbonation.

A caramel and herbal aroma to the beer. Pours a nice golden color with an off white head. Strong alchohol taste with hops heavily present. Has a medium body and a nice finish.

Courtesy of CUJO @ Village Pourhouse. The truth is this is a slightly below par Barley Wine... but for 10.2 it accomplishes something truly impressive. Tastes are on the lighter side but composed of several elements.. licorice, sweet malts, cherry, earthy ester for sure, and some bright hops poking out. Alcohol was noticeable, and while warming, perhaps made this a bit unbalanced. I needed this to be bigger... TWSS. 3.35

Oooh, ooh, oooh, awesome. Dug it big time. This one is just good old fashioned delicious, with one of sexiest looking pours in recent memory.
