Flavors of the same, plus a little honey. Complex flavor. Hop bitterness is a little low for the style. Definitely in my top tier for Barleywines, with a little more hops it could be great. Aromas of old, old cedar, leather and my grandmother’s old couch (or, davenport, as she used to say). Yummalicious sweet flavors of vanilla, figs and sweet peat. This is a great example of a mellowedout sweet barley wine. Quite delicious. jrob21 (1268), Atlanta, Georgia, USA

You can taste the alcohol a little... but what do you expect from a barley wine. Full of flavor, but well balanced. Sweet smooth, a little hops for balance, and notes of roasted coffee. jrmac (213), USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 3, 2008 Bottle thanks to dchmela, thanks again! Aroma of caramel and licorice malt, dark dried fruits, some resin hops and a little alcohol. Dark brown murky hue with a small almost fully diminishing of khaki head that left little lace. Flavor is sweet caramel and raisin malt with a little resin hop bitterness on the finish. Full bodied and oily soft. Alcohol is a little too pronounced throughout. Very nice for a young barley wine. A couple of years and this could be really good.
