Commercial Description:
Big malty flavors, including licorice and chocolate, are balanced with a moderate hop profile. Brewed with copious amounts of prized malts and flaked oats, the Barley Wine is so strong that it has to be aged for several months before we can bottle it. Like a fine wine, it will continue to improve with age up to 2 years after bottling (If kept cool).

Flaske. Meget mørk barleywine, med masser af frugt i næsen. God øl med masser af sødme fra malten, men ikke så fantastisk som de foregående øl, men stadig en god afslutter.

Bottle from Ty. Pours a dark ruby with a small thin head. The aroma is sweet and light. The taste is great: grapes, raisin, some chocolate and assorted sweets, and some small hops and malt flavors. Really nice, like a wine, but with beer greatness. The alcohol is really subdued. Overall, a great beer.

12 oz bottle from the Canis Major pack. Pours hazy dark red brown with a small off-white head. Very little lacing. Aroma is sweet, raisin, maybe some licorice and alcohol scents. Taste is sweet, malty, dark fruits, licorice, some bitter hops. Somewhat bitter finish. Rather syrupy. Really a very nice barleywine. It’s definitely on the maltier side of barley wines, but really that’s the side I prefer.

Bottle: Pours an amber brownish color with a thin tan head. Smells like a hoppy, doughy sweetness but surprises you with a unigue well blended brew. It will really warm you up quickly.

Bottle 355ml. Poured hazy dark burnt bronze with a small, frothy, tanned head which was fully diminishing. A complex and rich aroma with fruitcake dunked in brandy, caramelized dates, figs, sultana’s, dried apricots, dark chocolate and allspice. Flavor was quite smooth with a mild bitterness, sticky toffee malts, dried mixed fruits, dark chocolate, caramelized dates, currents, muscatels, pepper, allspice and light notes of powdered ginger. Noticeable alcohol content. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation, a syrupy texture and a great length finish.

12/06/07 12 oz bottle. Poured very dark yet still some color of deep amber. Head is offwhite purple and taste like wine and grapes. Needs to age, even though a great barley wine.

A- Pours a clear brown hue with creamy, brown head that is mostly diminishing, fair lacing on the glass S- Nose is dominated by dark fruit (raisins, plums), and tones of maple syrup, vanilla, cinnamon, strong alcohol presence T- Initial taste is of cherries and molasses, followed by chocolate/oatmeal/caramel malts, finish has tones of walnuts, vanilla, raspberries in the brief, light finish M- Full-bodied and watery, slightly under carbonated D- Limited drinkability like most Barleywines, the abv is significant and does not lend to extended drinking, but this is definitely a flavorful and complex barleywine that would be a great after-dinner quaff

4 pack from publix. Pours dark brown, slightly hazed. 1/8" head that goes away quicly. Very little lacing or tracers. Strong malt taste, a little hoppiness but then alcohol comes through. It dissapates rather quicly. Not bitter.Smooth after taste. I’ll hide a bottle and see how it ages out. A good barleywine style ale, I would recommend to others
