Commercial Description:
Big malty flavors, including licorice and chocolate, are balanced with a moderate hop profile. Brewed with copious amounts of prized malts and flaked oats, the Barley Wine is so strong that it has to be aged for several months before we can bottle it. Like a fine wine, it will continue to improve with age up to 2 years after bottling (If kept cool).

Bottle.[Tasting session @ yespr, thanks for a great evening Jesper] Average thick beige and creamy head that mostly diminished. Fair display of lacework. Mahogany colour. Nice and complex aroma of bread, grain, caramel and lots of dried fruit and vinous feel over this beer. Almost a light sweet chocolate at the very end. Very full bodied with a soft carbonation and thick and light alcoholic texture. Moderated to heavy sweet flavour with light notes of bitterness. Lingering malty sweet finish. Nice and smooth Barley Wine.

Bottle. Pours amber with a lasting creamy beige head. The nose is sweet caramel malt, licorice and toffee. The flavour is sweet caramel malt, toffee, licorice and berry fruitiness. Nice balance and has a pleasant warmth from the alcohol. Easy to drink and savour. Enjoyed this barley wine a lot more than the last few brands I’ve had over the months. I’ll store a bottle to see if it improves more over time. It’s great as it is though!

I had this beer on tap at the brewery in Frederick and was very satisfied. The aroma was big and pleasant, with a lot of malt scents, including roasty caramel, chocolate, and coffee, with some hop balance too. A nice, rich and sweet taste with a subtle bitter-sour profile at the finish. It had a thick, syrupy consistency, and good cling, with less carbonation than normal. Overall a very good beer that contains it’s high alcohol content quite well.

Reddish brown with a nice head after a hard pour. Aroma is very wine like. Flavor is sweet with a bit of bitterness in the background. Nice and smooth despite the alcohol content.

Pours a deep red amber with a nice sudsy off white head. Aroma is sweet caramel malt, brown sugar, fruity hops. Taste is similar sweet malt, bread, brown sugar balanced well with hops in the finish. Decent barley-wine

12 ounce bottle- poured a dark caramel brown, clear, with a moderate beige head that dissipated too quickly. Aroma was all caramel and smoke. Caramel and dark fruit taste immediately filled the mouth. Very smooth, very enjoyable. The alcohol content caught me by surprise. All in all, an excellent brew.

12 oz. bottle from Princeton’s. Dark, chocolate brown pour. Big foamy white head. Aroma is sweet and very boozy and so is the flavor. Flavor is also malty witha bit of a syrupy mouth feel. Finish is a boozy linger on your tongue that hangs around for a bit.
