| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 2, 2008 Dark amber color with minimal off-white head. Smells like malt and chocolate. The description says hops, I would say that they are hidden by the sweetness, almost tastes sugary. Overall its good, not too exciting. Acknud (778), Morganfield, Kentucky, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 12, 2008 Bottle vintage 07BB. Pours hazy and slightly orange, but mostly brown. I know this presents itself as more malt than hop, but I detect a pretty decent citrusy hop punch on top of caramel malts, wood and dark cherries. possesses the expected viscous body. ketchepillar (480), Viña del Mar, Chile
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 13, 2007 Aroma: caramel, and candied sweetness, little bit of hops, moderate alcohol. Taste is pretty good, but a little to sticky sweet. Finishes with a moderate amount of alcohol at first, but then leaves a very nice lingering dry sweetness. Overall, a bit one-sided and boring, but still not bad. Elizavyeta (110), Minnesota, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 14, 2008 Deep amber in color with a wispy white head that dissipates quickly. The aroma has strong mineral notes punctuated by that of pineapple, butterscotch, and coconut.
The actual flavor is remarkably intense with sweet, toasty notes giving way to a long, slightly bitter finish smacking of bittersweet chocolate, tart apple, and toasted malt.
Have for dessert along a slice of peach pie and vanilla bean ice cream. Joakgust (332), Stockholm, Sweden
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 28, 2009 Bottle, 355ml - Hazy amber red beer with a lazing head. The aroma is malty with notes of caramel, toffee and hops. Flavor is sweet malty with strong notes of caramel, licorice, chocolate and alcohol. Not at all as bitter as u would expect an American barley wine to be. Had higher hopes actually from this brewery. AgentSteve (1375), SF Bay Area, California, USA

Nose is sweet with caramel, molasses, rasins. The flavor is a bit pungent and sour in the back of the mouth. There is also a subtle sweetness in the mid. An earthy influence and burning sensation on the way down.
