Commercial Description:
Brewed in the centuries old tradition of German beers, our brewers use more wheat and proprietary yeast to give it the unmistakable character of a flavorful, authentic Hefeweizen. The High proportion of wheat gives In Heat its smooth, full-mouth feel and our special yeast gives it its unique fruity and spicy aroma.

12 oz bottle. Pours a cloudy yellow/orange color with a big frothy white head that has nice retention and great lacing. Aroma is strong banana and clove with hints of yeast and coriander. Flavor is citrus with a bit of spice (clove and coriander). Very easy on the palate. Pretty much a solid hefe. Nothing really extraordinary, but nothing bad at all. Solid.

Hazy blonde pour into thin foamy head that fully dissipates leaving no trace of lacings on the glass. Aroma of malty citrus and rye bread. Initial flavor of yeasty malts with a hint of orange and bananna leaving a watery fruity finish.

12oz bottle from sample 12-pack on December 22, 2008. Little to no head. Light orange color. Citrus aroma, citrus/banana flavor. Average, run of the mill hefe. Nothing spectacular.

Bottle. Tart citrus aroma. Cloudy yellow-orange body, small disappearing white head. Flavor is lemon and banana. Typical but uninspiring hefewiezen.

Bottle from sampler. Pours a clear gold with a small white head. Aroma is of grass, yeast, and soda cracker. Flavor has classic german pilsner flavor, a sort of dry mixture of bread, grass and yeast. Overall, I was impressed that Flying Dog was able to deviate from its usual mixture of floral hoppiness. However, they did not fail to achieve any texture in the body, leading to an overly-clean drinking brew.

Pale hazy yellow, tiny head. Sweet banana aroma. Sharp carbonation. Not quite up to german standards, but pretty refreshing, sweet and fruity.

(on bottle) pale yellow, white head. Very subtle bananna/orangepeel- aroma. Fat mouthfeel, slightly oily. Watery and weak taste of popcorn and fresh corn. Finishes of with a whiped cream touch to it.

Golden - orange colour with a white head. Aroma is weak wheat, orange, citrus, malt. Flavour is weak, wheat, malt, orange, citrus. OK beer, but could need more body.
