Commercial Description:
Brewed in the centuries old tradition of German beers, our brewers use more wheat and proprietary yeast to give it the unmistakable character of a flavorful, authentic Hefeweizen. The High proportion of wheat gives In Heat its smooth, full-mouth feel and our special yeast gives it its unique fruity and spicy aroma.

Poured a hazy gold color with a two finger head. The aroma was very yeasty and had a banana note. The taste had the typical spices and banana flavors. I thought this was a decent representation of the style. Its not the best, but I’ve had much worse. Got this as a part of a mixed Flying Dog 12 pack.

Looked really good in the glass with that hazy orange color but that was the best it got. The aroma was sweet and the taste was not much different. Not sure what all they put in this one but there is the traditional orange and maybe some lemon but for other herbs... Clover maybe or some other grass, honey shows in the aftertaste, there is probably some coriander, not sure what else is going on in there. At first I didn’t like it at all but it kind of grew on me as I finished of the first bottle. Guess it just took a little for my tongue to get use to the flavor blast.

Pours cloudy orange-tinged from the bottle. I’d say the citrus aspect is as much orange as lemon. It’s sweet and not really tart or tangy. (no wheat twang either.) There is some clove spice in there as well. Overall, it’s fairly light, but tasty. Easy to guzzle.

Pours hazy orange with a creamy white head. Orange and bananas dominate the light crisp flavor. A bit off kilter for a hefeweizen but a refreshing beer nonetheless.

A fairly standard hefeweizen. Good hazy golden pour. Yeast, banana, lemon aromas. Light banana and yeast flavor. A good hot day beer.

Fruity, yeasty, banana aroma with plenty of spicy clove that is thick and fulfilling. Darker than normal golden-orange pour, cloudy body. Thin white head with little to no lacing. Medium body with a smooth, refreshing, crisp finish. Good flavor that is rather authentic, but not as robust as the great ones. Dry wheat and grassy flavor. Good ol’ banana, lemon, and clove round out the flavor.

Hazy, unfiltered dark orange-yellow body... minimal effervescence.... generous head gives way to thin, white eighth-inch head, chalk-like without tracings... carbonation is fizzy in an active, respectful manner... balanced in mouthfeel from start to finish, with multiple glasses an easy proposition...quite a mix of citrus and clove: the yeast is balanced nicely with malts... overall, a solid hefe: the results (a heat-curtailing drink with some complexity for thought) speaks as clearly as any criticism I could write... I seem to be a minority on the Flying Dog leash...is the artwork causing adverse reactions from the internet beer crowd, or am I way off on them?

pours a semi-opague dark gold with almost no head, high carbonation. aroma of yeast, spice, clove, banana, and lemon. Flavor is mostly yeast and banana- refereshing, but certainly not a top hefeweizen.
