Commercial Description:
Brewed in the centuries old tradition of German beers, our brewers use more wheat and proprietary yeast to give it the unmistakable character of a flavorful, authentic Hefeweizen. The High proportion of wheat gives In Heat its smooth, full-mouth feel and our special yeast gives it its unique fruity and spicy aroma.

Bottle. Pours clear light orange, not cloudy at all. Tiny head. Smells like wheat, banana. Flavor is sweet at first before retracting to spicy wheat. Highly carbonated. Not at all what I expected.

Pours a golden, cloudy hue wih a big white, fluffy head. Aroma is distinctly a hefeweizen, with notes of lemon grass, citrus, banana, and yeast. This one drinks very smooth. Has a buttery mouthfeel yet crisp and refreshing. Definetly one of my favorite hefeweizens for a hot summer day. A very solid beer from Flying Dog.

It poured a slightly hazy golden liquid with a medium sized white foam that left big chunks of lacing. It had a smell of foam banana and yeast. It had a taste of foam banana, yeast and something sweet. Smooth mouthfeel, but a bit to cold. Decent wheat beer but far from one of the better ones.

Bottle. HEAVY Sediment. Cloudy over-gold color. Thin and watery. Spicy/citrus aromas. Could be a bad one, but who knows.

Bottle. Pale and hazy amber color with heavy sediment floating around and a large, quickly dissapating, white head. Smell is the typical hefe weizen... that spice and fruit blend. Taste isn’t bad... spice, oranges and banana but it is short lived because it seems a bit watered down. Haven’t had a blue moon in a while but it might be about on par with this wheat and cheaper.

Pours hazy amber with decent head. Uninteresting aroma. Quite solid body. Average.

Wow, another one from Flying Dog that I think is way underrated. Maybe it’s just better fresh. Had this on tap at Flying Dog Brats and Gonzo before the Friday session of GABF 2009. Pours a nice hazy golden-straw color with a creamy white head. Aroma is banana, clove, wheat, and lemon. Flavor is wheat, spicy yeast, lemon and other citrus, banana, and clove. On the sweeter side for the style but good. Medium-bodied, crisp, and refreshing. Very solid hefeweizen overall.
