12 oz bottle courtesy of the Binnys singles rack (Orland Park, Il). Pours a deep iced tea copper with moderate offwhite foamy head. Aromas are strong on sweet malts, touches of apple and spice mix with some toffee, biscuits, and toastiness. Carmel and sweetness, cakey, a touch of banana. Initial is a little lighter in taste, light malty sweetness comprised of toffee, biscuity, light cakey sweetness, subtle fruitiness, a touch of spice, and a decent bitterness. Leaves a pleasant taste on the palate, a decent bitterness on the palate, florals, banana, and some light graininess. Malt forward, no cloying sweetness, and a decent balance from the hops. Flavor a bit lighter when compared to the nose.

Nice deep brown coloured body with a light tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee and some peanuts. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong malty flavours and a good nuttiness throughout. Aftertaste shows more of the same - nothing of a breakthrough, but good to try. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Norm’s in Vienna, Virginia on 31 December 2006.

the flavor is divers, sweet, though slightly bitter. Nevertheless, the taste is gone before you even had the time to appreciate it, which is a shame.

Pours a copper color. nice head from this one, frothy that sticks around. smell malt. taste more hops then i expected. bit more bitter then i prefer from a winter warmer. not bad, but i want more from a winter time ale. waould prefer a bit more sweetness.
