Iced tea color, tea froth head. Some roasty aroma. Has a chocolate malt feel on the palate. No noticeable carbonation, but it’s there. Does not seem to have such a 6.5% until you are into the session. Malty alky finish, acceptable.

Amber to copper in color it poured a huge head no matter how softlly I poured it and left some small-bubbled lacing. The nose was filled with sweet scents of caramel, spice and malt. In the mouth it was medium-bodied with a clean mouthfeel and flavors that follow the nose.

Pours a dark reddish color with a big foamy tan head. Flavor is lots of caramel and toffee, with some citrus on the finish. Medium palate. Good beer.

Bottle. Poured a reddish-brown color with a thin beige head. Aroma of sweet malts, some caramel and toffee. Flavor was pretty subdued malt, right until the end, where it is a nice "explosion" of malty flavors, slight chocolate, but pronounced caramel and toffee. No real hops to speak of. Pretty smooth and easy to drink, but one dimensional.

Dark reddish brown body and opaque enough to see lots of carbonation. Aroma of malty chocolate coffee and a bit of dark fruit. Sticky dry chalky feel. Flavor is sweet with roasted malt, toffee, and brown sugar. Only a hint of hop and no fruit at all and not a lot of alcohol warming. This was pleasant and smooth, sweet and one dimensional.

Tap. Dark amber body, small head, malty sweet nose. Sweet malts, a hint of spice, light hops at best.

12oz brown bottle from The Lighthouse in Manchester. Pours the color of tarnished copper with virtually no head to speak of. Citrusy hops and toffee/caramel like malt. Citrusy hops with a fair bit of diacetyl and some toffee flavor too, with hints of spice on the aftertaste. No alcohol flavor, but definitely some alcohol warming going on here. Somewhat slick medium-bodied with full carbonation. Definitely not the best example of the style by any means. Decent enough, but not something I’d really seek out again...

Label on bottle also says Winter Ale. Poured a dark amber brown with a foamy head. A nice hop aroma. the taste was earthy with a mild hop bite initially. The flavor rolled into a slighly bitter finish
