Aroma hoppy, and with a strong vanilla component. The malt flavor is not particularly strong. This beer is too sweet, too heavy, textureless...and overall, too weak. I am not impressed. The taste is muddled. There’s a metallic taste too.

Poured a perfectly clear pale brown with lots of ruby highlights. The head was compact and slightly off-white. Little if any lacing. The aroma was sweet caramel, apple, citrus and some spice. The flavor followed suit with malt leading the charge backed up by refreshing apple and pear. Some spice, but nothing significant. Thin, watery mouthfeel. Didn’t take itself too seriously. Not bad.

Bottle sampled. Pours amber with a small tan head. Aroma of caramel and fruit. The flavor is sweet, caramel, fruit, and some presence of spices. Decent brew.

12 oz. bottle from Plaza Liquor - Pours a deep mahogany color with a one finger thick light tan head. Nice lacing. Aroma is toasted malt, esters, and something I can’t quite put my finger on. Flavor is dark esters and caramel malt. Medium body. A decent beer.

Bottle via trade with HogTownHarry. I drank this the other night and forgot to take any notes, so from memory (and cribbing from others) - dark ruby-brown with a small head; medium body; sweet aroma and flavour with lots of caramel and some citric hops and spice around the edges. Pretty good.

Was not expecting an English strong with this title, dont know why. Fairly standard. A sweet caramel malt aroma and taste, limited hops. Farily thin body and cloying aftertaste.

2006 Bottle pours a lightly hazy deep brownish/copper amber with a medium foamy/bubbly off white head that left some lacing. Aroma of caramel, citrus, grainy/toasted malts, very malt forward aroma with hints of hops. Flavors of sweet caramel/molasses maltiness, toasted malts, some light hop bitterness, nuts, light spices, some mixed fruits on the darker side.

Pours a dark brown color with a white head. Some lacing. Hints of malt, caramel, some hops, a lot of spice, and a touch of dark sweet fruits. Finishes medium bodied with a sweet spice on the tongue.
