| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 5, 2006 How many good things can you say about this beer. Never heard of this brewer and picked this up to complete a mixed 6 pack (Thank you 3 Sons in Wexford). The pour was a beautiful red/light brown with a 2 finger head that stopped by to say hi, but didn’t intrude. Malts is the commander of this ship and a tight ship he do run. He allows for hops, and some dried fruit to peek above deck, but never lets them do more. This is a unique and delicious brew. HogTownHarry (4025), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 1, 2006 Bottle (341ml). Deep clear ruby with an average fluffy straw-coloured head. Really nice English strong aroma - roast malt, dried fruits, a massive hit-up of funky, pungent UK hops. Taste follows - sweet malt, almost burnt, light nuts and chocolate, the hop bitterness stays under control, it’s quite balanced. Solid body, chewy, lightly astringent, nice bitter/burnt malty aftertaste. Excellent winter brew, wish I’d bought a six-pack of these.
