| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 11, 2005 bottle-sampled while i was stuck in Pueblo, CO from the April 10 snowstorm. pours a deep amber hue with a big beige head-foamy and pillowy. great lacing! arom of english hops, big malts, carmely and sweet. medium body. some good earthy hop notes on the finish. I cant believe this beer has this low of score. a little cardboardy on the malt profile as it warmed but dind’t really detract due to the style of beer here. for flying dog, this is a winner! | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 5, 2005 Flying Dog brews are pretty mid-level most of the time, but this IMO is the best of their offerings. Heavy on the malt backbone and pretty light on the hops. This brew goes down easy and tastes real nice. If I ever buy FD brews it’s either the mix pack (for variety) or this one. The malt really takes control in this one; I detect slight caramel and chocolate in the finish. Good beer. Tmoney99 (4765), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
