This is good. Surprisingly thick and heavy. Sweet malt without the alcohol dominance that ruins several beers of this style. Standard malt aroma. Brown with a red tint. Sweet malty goodness, with light wheat and fruit flavors also. Like Fuller’s 1845, but not as heavy or complex.

Pour is a dark, clear brown. Malty aroma. Good balance between malt and hops. Overall not a bad mildly dark beer. Not bad at all.

very dark redish beer with a fairly light aroma. The taste is sweet. A very good strong flavor. A good winter beer

03.08.05 12oz bottle. Red-brown pour with smallish tan head and some lacing. This brew is sweet on the nose but not in a sugary way, moreso sweet like a dark bread. Some spinach and herb character to the beer, lightly spicey and black peppery, clean to finish. Could certainly be fuller bodied as it seems light all around, maybe too light to carry it off. Overall it’s drinkable, but not special.

Pour is a very dark red with little or no head. Aroma is malty. Flavor is like a malt kick in the pants. Lots of malts used in this one but it makes it also a one trick pony. Really a good malt brew but i also think it could use some more complexity.

Impressive, big time, considering my expectations. Deep dark ruby rad, damn near black. Flavor sweet caramel, perfectly balanced hops, hint of vanilla, sour cherries. Palate is smooth but a touch malty. Aftertaste frutiy, sweet, again with the perfect hop balance. Very nice.
