Strong porter aroma and of all things IPA color, but the taste is "something completely different". Strong malty flavor but without the bite. Flavor lacks much more than malt, however. Unique light-bodied mouthfeel for a beer this strong; the alcohol is well-hidden. Recommended if not simply for the unique mix of variegated elements normally found in distinct styles.

From the pour this looked good. Off white head and dark amber color for the body. Malty aroma was noticeable. This one is good beer. Bought a case from Costco and the K-9 name caught my eye. Was looking forward to this beer and it didn’t disappoint me

12 oz. bottle. Pours a nice deep red color iwith a thin brown head. Malty aroma. More hoppy flavor than is suggested bu the look and aroma. There are also some malty flavors but to me thay are understated. Not a bad beer but nothing really stands out about it either.

Pours clean mahogany with a small film of tan head. Some fair lacing. Aroma is brown sugar and caramel roasted malt with a hop nose. The initial flavor is a tad sour, silky caramel malt then you recognize some alcohol and brown sugar and honey. Finishes a little yeasty. The palate is warm and medium-bodied and smooth, buttery.

Not too special in any category. The beer poured nicely with adequate head that quickly disappeared. Body was a little light for a strong Ale.

On tap at the Flying Saucer in Charlotte. I liked this one a lot. Strong, slightly alcoholic flavor dominated by malts with a tangy, biting finish that felt kind of like an IPA. Nice.
