Hey, not to knock all of the traditional raters, but for half the price, this Tripel is about as good as some of the standards out there.

Dark, cloudy orange-yellow. Finger of fizzy head which evaporates quickly. The glass sweats. A hint of orange peel, along with a spicy Belgian aroma. The balance in the smell is really good. The spice is harsh but not too bad due to the balance. Strong, fizzy Belgian flavor with hints of citrus (grapefruit and orange). Really well balanced. The feel is fizzy and thick, like champagne. It’s a strong but flavorful and balanced beer. THe grapefruit and orange citrus are the Belgian’s perfect foil.

Delicious. Had it on tap at Rattle and Hum in NYC. Poured a rich, slightly cloudy gold. Aromas of cloves, flowers and spices. Very sweet and smooth.

cloudy yellow pour. quickly dissipating white head. First tripel i have had so this may be adjusted later. Right now this is a very decent beer with fruit flavors, little bit of bread, and a sweet finish and aftertaste. decent mouth feel.

Bright golden-orange hue. Full mouthfeel. Solid malt base with honey-like flavors on top of light grains, flowers and tropical fruit. Spicy and floral aromas carry notes of clove, allspice and white pepper. Hints of mead and white wine in the finish. Dryish, warming aftertaste with a pinch of bitterness to cleave off the sweetness. Very pleasant.

Second of four "special" brews from Flying Dog four-pack...pleasant light orange brown body with white pencil-thin head...mildly effervescent... frsh malts and grapefruity citrus aromas; yeasty esthers are perfumy, with enough hops to add some spruce--complex! Light-to-medium bodied abbey ale--alcohol appears as a soft warming at last swallows... tight, taut golden pilsner taste with minimal wheat or malt...dry and a bit winey at the throat... and like a dry white wine, Kerberos retains its presence and strength start to finish... rather palatable and straightforward, yet not as full-bodied as one would expect from a tripel...

Well, I bought this with the canis major multipack, and I really didn’t know what a tripel was. It kind of reminds me of the in heat wheat, but just kicked up a bit. Lots of sweetness in the taste, with subtle banana notes on the finish. I’m not sure I would buy a sixer of it, but I would drink it again.
