xnoxhatex (788), Chicago, Illinois, USA May 7, 2008 Wow, I can’t believe I’m only the fourth rater of this beer. 12oz bottle from West Lakeview Liquors from the Canis Maximus four pack. Clear, medium amber with small white head. Aroma is very sweet malt with spices and yeast, also oange and alc. Cloyingly sweet caramel malt with spice, big alc, yeast and banana. Medium body and creamy with chalkiness. This is not very good and tad out of style for a tripel.
Update: As the beer warmed up, I literally couldn’t finish this beer, one of the few drain poors. -1 overall
martinboer (1327), Amsterdam, Netherlands Aug 29, 2008 Bottle from BierKoning. Bold orange colour. Sweet, fruity and grassy nose. Taste of oranges, banana also, and malt. Quite tangy. Nice tripel. ucusty (1015), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA Aug 29, 2008 Pours a cloudy gold/dark orange with a very thin head. Pleasant fruit and spice in the aroma. Banana, more fruits, clove, cinnamon. Light body for a tripel, but has a pleasant dry finish. after4ever (1710), Brier, Washington, USA Aug 27, 2008 12-oz. Thanks, Skoi! Pours crystal clear light gold. Headless, with a musty and mossy nose. Medium, somewhat oily body. Basement, foot, and moss on the mid-palate. Bitter clove and rubbing alcohol on the finish. Very bitey there at the end. daknole (681), Plantation, Florida, USA Aug 24, 2008 This is a pretty damn good productin by the FDB. Pours a nice gold color with a really ncie fluffy head. Aroma of yeast and more yeast, with some malt and fruit as well. Flavor is yeasty, smooth and creamy and a tad sweet. Very light and fluffy in the mouth. I would drink this again. VTHopHead (670), Barre, Vermont, USA Aug 24, 2008 bottle - Poured a golden amber in color with a small white head that faded to nothing quickly. Aroma is of Belgian yeast and slightly sweet malts... some clove/banana... nice. Hint of yeasty sourness, Fruity esters. Flavor is more than slightly sweet... lots of Belgian yeast, clove/banana spiciness and orange. Alcohol is definitely apparent, but not overwhelming. OK,but not great...a little rough for the style...
