| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 28, 2009 Amber-golden colour (funny that). Not much aroma - a hint of malt and fruit. Flavour is Malty with a fruityness and a slight alcoholic note. Subtle and deep, smooth with a substantial body. DeadGirl (243), West Palm Beach, Florida, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Nov 24, 2009 Pours amber/golden from the 12oz. bottle: Nose is caramel malts, molasses, toasted grain, floral hops, and some brown sugar. Flavors of cinnamon raisin bread and other rich, crispy grains, florals, and little citrus. Medium-bodied, smooth overall. Drinkability: Conplements the originality of a steam ale, but lacks a satisfying taste overall. Rebuy: I could do without. #218 on 24112009, DG.

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 15, 2009 12 oz. bottle. Pours a copper color with a small frothy light brown head. Aroma is sweet, caramel malts, a touch of fruit, and a touch of grassy hops. Flavor is caramel malts, more fruitiness, a little buttery, and grapefruit/citrus hops. Mouthfeel is fairly carbonated, dry, and a solid bitter finish. Very drinkable beer and well balanced. wheresthepath (551), Buckinghamshire, England
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Nov 14, 2009 [355ml bottle from Westholme Stores, Goring] Pours a nice reddish amber with a moderate off-white head. Annoyingly fizzy. Sweet caramel malt at first, with an odd minty soapiness at the mid-point. Some grassy notes before a rather clumsy dirty bitterness in the finish (still more sweet than bitter though). It’s pretty average really. ricke (246), Malme, Sweden
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 11, 2009 A dull dark amber color with a very small off-white head that settles kind of quickly leaving just minimal lacings.
The smell is of, malts, a note of bread, comparably big caramel aromas and a fair amount of leafy and spicy hops. Overall, the smell is mild and not very interesting.
Sweet malts with some caramel character in the mouth. Perhaps a note of fudge. Very mild peppery hop flavors. The finish has a gentle bitterness to it with some citric and leafy hop notes and a note of minerals. The taste is by and large mild and thin, but clean and rather refreshing.
Moderate body, well suited carbonation.
An ok beer, nothing more, nothing less. It could really use more flavors and complexity, as for now, it comes out a bit thin. But still it’s quite refreshing.
