Commercial Description:
Brewed in the tradition of centuries old Scottish brewing methods, "Road" is reminiscent of a Porter. Road Dog is a rich, malty beer with hints of chocolate and licorice resulting from the use of four prized malts.

Bottled(355ml). -Dark brown coloured, medium sized beige head, roasted and mild chocolate nose. Roasted malt, light chocolate and caramel taste with mild vinous , licorice and woody notes. The finish is mild roasted and slightly herbal.

Smells and tastes very roasted. Medium body. Nice roasted malt flavor with a bitter finish. Solid and drinkable.

Pours a clear dark brown with a fizzy head that’s gone in a flash. Malty caramel, chocolate, and coffee in the very weak aroma and flavor. Palate is a bit on the watery side. There is nothing seriously flawed here, just not enough of what is there.

12 oz bottle. Poured dark brown with a thick head. Aroma is all malt. Flavor is malt, but very light for a porter.

12oz bottle from variety pack...pours dark brown, barely any head...chocolate, malts, and roasted coffee bean aroma...flavor was much of the same...thin though...decent flavor, just not enough oomph.

Bottle @ home. Dark reddish brown, off-white head. Aroma is malts and some hops, even a bit skunky. Gets better when it warms up. Flavour is sweet, caramel, coffee, roasted malts. A bit thin, but nice flavours, soft and dry mouthfeel.

Almost black pour with a tan head. I smell some roastiness and toastiness..chocolate, malt and some caramel maybe? Flavor is ok, kinda water. Coffee and chocolate are noticeable and maybe some dark fruit. Not bad, but not even close to their imperial porter.

Bottle with no reference to Scottish. Dark brown/ruby, translucent, nice head. Medium bodied and very smooth. Chocolate malts come through. Slightly sweet and not too roasty. Possibly not daring enough, but still worthwhile.
