Commercial Description:
Brewed in the tradition of centuries old Scottish brewing methods, "Road" is reminiscent of a Porter. Road Dog is a rich, malty beer with hints of chocolate and licorice resulting from the use of four prized malts.

Poured fom bottle a clear dark brown with a medium sized off-white head. Aroma is light with sweet malt and just a touch of burnt coffee. Flavor is malty sweet with a little bitter chocolate, burnt roasted grains and coffee. The palate has some malty smoothness to it and a mild bittering with a little hop flavor coming out at the very end. Overall, decent beer, maybe a bit thin in body and slightly too charred, but Iwould drink another, no doubt.

pours dark brown with reddish tint. aroma and flavor are average if not mediocre for a porter, nothing exciting to speak of. still tasty though.

Very easy to drink. It reminded me of a light beer even though its a porter. I think its one of the better flying dogs.

Bottled. Very deep ambery brown colour, mediumsized brownish beige head. Aroma is roasted malts, burnt wet wood as well as some hops and mild notes of licorice. Flavour is quite much the same along with chocolate and caramel malts. A bit watery palate, but indeed strangely "soft" for being 6 % ABV.

Dark with ruby highlights with a dense white head. Aroma is of roasted coffee while flavor is caramel/coffee. Minimal hop bitterness with a nice pleasant mouthfeel.

Bottle. Pours dark brown with a big beige head. Malty , slightly roasted aroma. Mildly roasted flavours teaming up with a bit of nuts and molasses. Overall quite malty impression. Rather good.
