Commercial Description:
Brewed in the tradition of centuries old Scottish brewing methods, "Road" is reminiscent of a Porter. Road Dog is a rich, malty beer with hints of chocolate and licorice resulting from the use of four prized malts.

dark brown in color with a beige head that disappears quickly. Malt aroma with a slight nutty smell. Easy on the palate. roasted malt taste that is slightly sweet folowed by a very mild alcohol after taste. Too weak of a beer to be called a porter.

This dark brown ale poured with a thin beige head and a malty aroma. There is a roasted malt flavor that is way too thin for a porter.

Lively and light, good on its own. Not too much flavor or taste to remember. Would drink to get drunk in a bar somewhere but imho not the beer to taste and enjoy slowly.

Sample @ Hallandale beer fest (bottle). Warm dark brown color with white foam. Average bland smell. Flavors are smooth rich roasted malt but with a thin palate that goes down easy.

When I poured this into a glass, it came out very smoothly. Has a GREAT appearance, but don’t let it fool you. It does have a good porter taste, but it leaves a chalky aftertaste. Good carboration which quickly goes away leaving a flat bite if not drank right away. I’ll buy another next round, but I’ll drink it a little faster instead of trying to "savior" the quality

Bottled. 165A08. Beer is very dark ash brown. Head is small, off-white, frothy, mostly and quickly diminishing. Disburses into a nifty broken spiderweb on the surface of the liquid.
Aroma is malty with moderate notes of chocolate, deeply toasted grain, toasted nuts; Hoppy with light honeysuckle and herbal notes; Yeasty with a moderate note of dish raggy sharp cheese; Light intermittent buttery note/diacetyl.
The flavor is lightly sweet, moderately bitter, lightly acidic with a long, moderately bitter, lightly acidic, trace sweet finish. Metallic aftertaste.
The body is light the texture is watery and the carbonation is lively.

Pours a very dark brown, near black in color. Some froth on the pour, but no head forms. Smell is some chocolate and some faded hops. Taste is brash chocolate and hops, not too much else going on there. Mouthfeel is a little thin and uninspiring. Just can’t seem to get in tune with this brewery.
