| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 2, 2007 Pours a thin dark brown with a small head that leaves very little lacing. Aroma and flavor are both rather muted, but there is some malt, chocolate, coffee, and smoke. Mouthfeel is thin, watery with medium carbonation. A middle-of-the-road porter...there are certainly better ones out there. PickettsCharge (68), USA

Almost as dark as coffee. Thick head.
Definite chocolate taste. Again, like coffee for some reason. Not bad though.

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 20, 2007 12oz bottle. Pours a clear cherry/mahogany color with a thin head. Aroma is full and malty with aromas of chocolate, vanilla and anise alongside malt. Taste is relatively full-bodied and malty with a strong chocolate and honey flavor complemented by slight smoky notes in the aftertaste. Light and simple for a porter, but in a rather pleasant way. mcox90 (649), Wilton, USA

Small tan head, no lacing. Dry & light mouthfeel. Tasted a bit of roasted malts with some chocolate flavor although very light. There is a bit of bitterness to it. More of a black & tan than a porter. GG (1654), NorCal, California, USA
| 1.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Oct 19, 2007 Leave it up to these guys to take two of my favorite styles of beer and make them into this abomination. Why do I keep wasting my money on Flying Dog beers? Am I a glutton for punishment? That must be it, because now I have 5 more bottles of this crap. I wonder if I can give them to my brother.....
An aroma of malted iced tea, subtle roasted malt notes and an odd acridness that was out of place. Appearance is cola in color, with absolutely no head what so-ever. A small scummy film sort of rose up to the top and tried to make a foamy cap, but like this beer...it didn’t deliver. Flavor is some mad scientist’s disturbed version of slightly smokey malt and roasted malts but it’s all so damned weak that the lactic sourness is really the only discernable taste and it tasted like ass. Thanks Flying Dog.
