Gregis (848), Overland Park, Kansas, USA May 12, 2008 Pours a deep mahogany with a creamy, beige head that laces nicely. The nose is a blend of caramel and chocolate malt notes with a touch of peaty malt in the background. Light to medium-bodied and slick with tongue-scrubbing fine carbonation and a lightly dry, roasty finish. The flavor follows the nose with a light fruity note added to the caramel and chocolate malt. I’m fairly surprised to see this one rated so lowly. I haven’t been overly impressed by most of Flying Dog’s lower gravity brews, but this one is fairly tasty and easy-drinking. While it might not be among my top choices for a locally available porter, I would drink it again.

Rather good. scrizzz (452), kirkland, Washington, USA Jul 11, 2008 clear very dark brown. dark inviting malty aroma, though from the description, i was expecting some peat. i really dig the flavor here, there’s full roast, lighter body, nutty character and a drawn out hopped finish. great balance between dark roast without a heavy body.
