Sampled at the Flying Dog tasting at Blacklick Wine and Spirits on 2.12.09. Pours clear amber with a medium off-white head. Crisp citrus hop aroma. Flavor is also very crisp and citrusy, which surprises me after seeing the hop combination they used. Nice malt balance and a bitter finish.

Bottle. Pours a golden amber with an off white head. Nose is sweet malt with a hint of hops. Flavors are very sweet fruit, sweet malt tones, and slight grapefruit hop taste, a good amount of orange flavors later. Mouth is medium bodied with a decent bitter finish. I guess the "Colorado-IPA" is maltier then the more typical California style. Still a decent beer.

Hop aroma is a little weak, but it is still there. Not extremely pungent, but enough to catch the aroma. Decent hop aroma. Fairly claer and golden brown in appearance. Thin head sitting on top. Decent bitter hop flavor. Somewhat smooth. Nice bittering hop at the end to finish the beer off. The hops are definitely present in the taste, but not in the aroma. Overall, a nice IPA. Nice looking a little weak with the aroma, and hoppy with the taste.

Bottle from Beer Factory Athens. Amber colored with a nice off-white head. Aroma very fruity with hints of grass and lots of hops. Sweet malty taste with lots of hops that leads to a nice dry bitter finish. Nice but not something spectacular.

Tap @ Mcmenamin’s - orangish clear coppery color thin white head. Mild aroma lightly hoppy. Mild flavor very dry and almost gritty mouthfeel. Nothing wrong but nothing remarkable.

This IPA was surprisingly mild for someone who doesn’t enjoy the overwhelming taste of hops from most IPA’s. It had a lot of flavor but was still pretty smooth.

Bottle. Pours rusty orange with an off white head. Smells piney, citric, and lightly floral. Tastes cirtrusy up front, with a hard bitter hit, then some piney, grassy hop intense-ness. Malts are kinda bready, but light. Lots of flavor. Pretty smooth. Pretty good IPA.

Bottle. Pours a clear, golden body and a small, off-white head. Lovely resiny and citrusy nose with the balance job done by malty sweetness and some tiny notes of caramel. The flavor is a more or less balanced experience but the hops are a tad more evident. There’s sufficient malty sweetness with some caramel and beef-stock. Piney and citrusy hops rounds it of, with a fine bitterness. Full-bodied. Not a very complex beer, but a really pleasant one. Too strong and maybe too sweet to be a real thirst-quencher, but at the same time I would love to drink it that way. (090211)
