| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 20, 2008 Pours gold into the glass with a reddish tinge. Aroma is slightly subdued compared to most IPAs, but still has notes of grapefruit. Flavor is really nice with a good balance of toasty malt with grassy, citrusy hop flavors. Smooth drinking with minimal alcohol burn. stobbe74 (714), Denmark

The aroma is hoppy (grapefruit). The flavor is also hoppy with lots of grapefruit (chinook hops). The mouthfeel is balanced and overall this is a very good beer. nqualls (1428), Nashville, Tennessee, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 19, 2008 it surprises me to find a brewery tipping a finer, more flavorful tap handle of classic pale ale than their IPA; however, this is exactly what flying dog has done. snake dog is not a bad IPA - not at all. snake dog just leaves much to the imagination. pouring with a lager transparency, the dark amber color hold zero claims on hazy, deep flavor notes. slightly grapefruity aromas promise hops, while revealing the shallowness of their delivery. there is little balance here. nothing much to twist the tongue around. it flows, it washes, it disappears, and - personally - i think it rather disappoints. particularly in comparison to the beautifully balanced and starkly flavored classic pale ale. my money will go to the less indian of the pair. still, truth be told, flying dog does not make a bad beer.... they just make several average ones. joergen (8617), Frederiksberg, Denmark

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 19, 2008 Bottle. Poured orange with an off-white head that left light lacing. Nice floral hop aroma. The flavor brings the same floral with some orange peel and a caramel backing. Medium to full body with a medium bitterness throughout. A very nice improvement of the ‘07 and earlier version. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 16, 2008 From tap. This beer tastes even better as the 2007 version. Dark golden color. Grapefruit and oily hops in the aroma. Oily earthy hop flavor with grapefruit. Dry earthy bitter aftertaste. Impressive!
