tytoanderso (1381), St. Louis Park, Minnesota, USA Feb 1, 2008 12oz bottle. Aroma of cedar, light grapefruit, grassy and slightly earthy hops. Pours full amber with a creamy off white head with decent retention. Bitter on the tongue. Toasted malt, plenty of dry, grassy hops, a hint of bitter orange zest. Medium bodied. Quite firm on the palate with good carbonation. Better than I expected. rustbucket0873 (145), Krikville, New York, USA Jan 29, 2008 Pale copper with a weak white head. Lovely aroma of caramel, resiny english hops, quite piney and good malt complexity and strength to live up to the IPA tag. Nice full caramel body, strong hopping with english hops, with a nutty toasted untertone. Quite sweet, but reasonably balanced by the assertive bitterness. MaliMisho (208), East Meadow, New York, USA Jan 28, 2008 This was a great beer. It had a copper body with plenty of hops like an IPA should have. dchmela (1406), Orlando, Florida, USA Jan 28, 2008 Pours a nice amber color with a thick pillowy head. Aroma is hops, citrus, and a little earthy. Taste is light and malty with a with a bitter twang of hops in the finish. A very subtle IPA and nice if you don’t want your head blown off by the hops. beerheart (237), Erie, Colorado, USA Jan 26, 2008 I’ve been drinking the "extreme" / "double-hopped" IPAs and pale ales lately.
But it was nice to enjoy a well-crafted, traditional IPA. This beer poured as orange a copper-orange as I’ve ever seen in a beer. Thin, creamy, white head. Aroma of citrus (grapefruit) and dried apricots--maybe a little caramel. Sits light and slightly oily on the tongue. Citrus, caramel, and of course the bitter hops come through. Finishes clean with only a slight, lingering hop bitterness. reeljob (14), USA Jan 21, 2008 Kind of astringent tasting, Reminds me a little of soap. Bitter and tastes like drinking lemonade after brushing your teeth. Maybe I’ve got a bad bottle, but i won’t be getting this again. RichardGretton (3128), Leicestershire, England Jan 19, 2008 Bottle. Borwn beer with a strong head. The aroma is very fruity and dry, and the flavour is heavily malty and very dry. Overall a really nice beer. Chapel (327), Levittown, New York, USA Jan 19, 2008 Orange pour. Aroma is fruity and hoppy. Flavor is decidedly hoppy almost to the overwhelming point of an IIPA. Rather interesting.
