The aroma has great piney hops. Grapefruit bitterness in the nose draws you in, and makes you long for the taste. The taste is also nicely hoppy. There is asuprising sweetness though. Long finish. Sometimes a hoppy beer is just what the doctor ordered so this went down a treat, but in truth it’s only an average IPA.Score 3.6 Subsequent rating also scored 3.6. milewide (609), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Nov 1, 2007 Bottle, 4.7%. Very nice caramelly hop aroma. sweet and nice. Clear dark golden colour. Small white head. Good flavour, a bit like the aroma, not sweet but caramelly. Distinct bitterness, but good and clean. scoobysnak (249), Appleton, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 1, 2007 Hopsier than Doggie Style. Good orange color with a quickly dissapating head. Hops throughout, citrusy and fairly dry. Another good one from Flying Dog. JLAudio (282), Crestwood, Illinois, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Oct 28, 2007 Pours a nice orange color with a small head but tons of lacing. It had a small aroma to it, not impressive at all. It tasted medium sweet with good complexity in the malt aspect, but lacked the hop presence. Im not a fan of Golding hops, so this was a bad choice for me, but I was curious enough to try it. Less than average IPA obguthr (1011), Poquoson, Virginia, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 5/5 | 12/20 | Oct 26, 2007 Moderately weak malty grapefruit aroma that’s a little yeasty. Dark orange color, with a thick ivory head, nice lacing. Buttery cherry taste with a nice cilantro finish. Above average on the beer scale, fair on the craft beer scale. Too buttery. dlovell2 (140), Columbia, Maryland, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 25, 2007 Amber with white head. Hoppy malty aroma. Hoppy flavor with carmel. Honestly, I have to say I was disappointed with this beer. After working my way through the Golden, Amber, Hefeweizen, and pale ales that Flying Dog produces and being very surprised about the flavor they had I expected the IPA to blow me away. Instead I was left wondering where the hops were.
