Speedle (262), Mid-Atlantic (Tour 2007-2008), Virginia, USA Aug 30, 2007 clear gold/dark yellow with a white frothy head....citrus/grapefruit hops aroma, some floral...fresh tasting with an ok hop finish...I like this beer but has little WOW....goes pretty good with the Cambell’s chunky fajita chicken with rice and beans I’m dining on tonight wilderthanyou (410), Guelph, Ontario, Canada Aug 24, 2007 Pours a typical IPA amber with a thin slight off-white head. Strong floral bubble gum aroma. Lots of grapefruit citrus hop bitterness, not perfectly balanced but not bad. The best beer from flying dog so far. frink (467), coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada Aug 24, 2007 A clear golden pour with a thick soapy head. The aroma that stands out for me is a spicy yeast, strange but it worked, some citric hops were also noted. The yeast was also detectable in the taste as well as the grapefruit and the malt balance. This is one of the best I.P.A.’S I’ve had in a long time. BlackForestCO (819), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA Aug 21, 2007 Updated: Mar 10, 2009Poured from a bottle. Poured an amber color with a half inch white head. Aroma of hops and some pine. The initial malt flavor gives way to some light fruit flavors and a slight hop bite. It almost seemed more like an amber ale than an IPA, but i may have just gotten a weaker batch. cbkschubert (1945), Cochise Co., Arizona, USA Aug 21, 2007 12 oz. bottle from Plaza Liquors - Pours a clear amber color with a one finger thick off white head. Light lacingAroma is esters and floral hops. Flavor is light toasted malt and hops. Medium body. Fairly smooth with a slight bitter bite. A good, easy drinking IPA. harrisoni (6703), Ashford, Kent, England Aug 20, 2007 Bottle from Utobeer. Amber, lasting beige head. Certainly more aggressively hoppy than the Doggie Style Pale Ale I had just before. Far more toffee in this, better balanced, better malts to offset the fairly harsh hop. Not excessive, but harsh. Good bitterness. Smoother, more grown up than the pale ale. Oddly English. I think due to the strength. You could see Thornbridge Hall making this beer. Mature. krysztofar (344), belleville, Illinois, USA Aug 19, 2007 12oz bottle. pours bronze with lots of carbonation and a thin film of soft off white head. lots of orange zest and other citrus tones but also some flowery hop aroma as well. really quite aromatic, not the ipa hop bite or resiny pine you might expect. a peachy fruitiness does appear in the middle. body is somewhat velvety and smooth although a little harsh. big time hops on the back half with long aromatic bitter finish.
