demitriustown (689), Shelby Township, Michigan, USA Jun 7, 2007 12 oz bottle: First time I’ve seen Flying Dog in stores in the Metro-Detroit area, and I’m glad that they’re here....Gonzo. mmmmmm. Anyway, back to this brew. Aroma of a very bright floral hop aroma with the grapefruit coming to the forefront. Pours a clear dark golden almost an amber color with a thick white head that lingers. Taste is citrus hops, grapefruit, more citrus notes, a bit of spice and a bit of creamy malt characteristic. Aftertaste is citrusy, very subtle bitterness and pretty decent. Overall, Interesting. Not the typical IPA that I’m used to but pretty darn good. Cheers! ChainGangGuy (2522), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA Jun 7, 2007 Appearance: Pours out an exceptionally bright, clear orange-gold color. The head, though frothy and hearty at first, soon dissipates to a thin, fizzy cap of bubbles.
Smell: A rather lively, energized scent of citrus hops, wildflowers, and a trace of malt.
Taste: A brief hoppy citrus zing followed by a languid malt flavor and a metallic twang. Finish is dry and notably herbaceous. All in all, a rather unexceptional example of an IPA. The smell was misleading.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied, though there’s a slight oily slickness. Standard carbonation.
Drinkability: Not one of my preferred IPA’s. This beer’s just not nearly as assertive as I’d like it to be. Otje (668), Leiden, Netherlands Jun 7, 2007 Bottle, 4.7%abv. Amber beer w a small biege head. Aromas of pineapple, grapefruit and flowery. Tastes piney, resinous, floral, grapefruit, lots and lots of bitterness and some sweet malty backbone. Finishes more bitter, some caramelmalt and very fruity. This style grows on me more and more! Lovely. jbrus (4835), Delft, Netherlands Jun 2, 2007 Bottled. Floral and fruity (grapefruit) aroma. Amber color, beige head, good ace. Very bitter but sweet underneath, grapefruit, perfume. On the harsh side but still well drinkable. jeremytoni (1067), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA May 31, 2007 From bottle pours nice amber color with agood amount of head. Nice hoppy flavor, with a good finish. Drink4Satan (585), Bristol, Rhode Island, USA May 30, 2007 Pours a slightly cloudy almond color with a quickly diminishing off-white head that still retains a solid half centimeter cap. Laces very well. Floral hops, pine, sweet fruits and sweet malts are in the aroma. The falvor is hoppy, but not really bitter, the hops take on a sweeter, fruity quality. It seems like sugar was added, the hops were so sweet. The palate was a little on the syrupy side, but aside from that, it had a nice medium body. The finish is long, but not very dry, leaving behind floral hops and sticky sweetness. bierkoning (5985), La Tropica, Netherlands May 30, 2007 Updated: Sep 16, 2008Bottle. Golden color. Flowery, somewhat perfumed aroma with lychee. Hopbitter, flowery, perfumed flavor with red berries and lychee. Long earthy flowery hopbitter aftertaste. Touch of malty sweetness. Likeable.

dougwoods (6), Texas, USA does not count May 26, 2007 Aroma of a spruce forest, with earthy tones and floral hops. Medium to darkish amber color with a fair head. Medium body with a nice finish (if you like hops). I like this beer a lot, but I’m a confirmed Hophead. Its pronounced hoppiness may put off some people, but hey, it’s IPA after all.
