Cajun (144), New Iberia, Louisiana, USA Jan 27, 2007 Orange to amber color with diminishing head. Powerful aroma of orange peel and hops. Solid IPA. Very hoppy taste that stays with you. I find it goes well with shrimp scampi. dpbhoosier (51), USA Jan 25, 2007 Bottled. Piney and citrus hop aroma as I would expect from an IPA. Light body, easy drinking, refreshing hop bitterness. One of the best readily available IPAs that I come back to from time to time. MrBendo (1039), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA Jan 21, 2007 I really don’t have time for this beer. Every time I so much as think about pouring it into my glass, the glass is overflowing, the bottle is overflowing, my mousepad is wringing wet. Is this stuff spoiled? It’s local to my stores, so it shouldn’t be.
Aroma is citrusy, earthy. Hazy orange. Fair lacing. Taste of grapefruit and a hint of caramel malt background. It doesn’t taste spoiled. I need a new mousepad. TechMyst (166), Fox River Grove, Illinois, USA Jan 21, 2007 Ok, I’ve had quite a few IPA’s, and I wasn’t expecting much because I didn’t know anything about this brewery. But I must admit this brew did bitch slap me upon first taste. Aroma was very strong floral and bitter hops. Hazy yellow color. Semi-sweet malts (I would imagine) this is quite an unbalanced beer...but just at the edge of being undrinkable...so I have to give them points for making an extreme beer and not going over. my glass was empty and I could still get wafts of the aroma even through my stuffed up nose. the last sip even bitch slapped me with bitterness. Nephilium (541), Ohio, USA Jan 20, 2007 This pours a clear amber, with a thin long lasting head. The aroma is of fresh cut grass and citrus. Nice crisp IPA flavor, but a bit thin and very little finish. Overall, I’d say this is a bit above average, and has the makings of a good session ale. STEPHENDR (478), California, USA Jan 19, 2007 12 oz. bottle- color of golden yellow , with a medium white head - nose of bitter hoops , piney hopps , sweet perfume , cannabis , and resin – taste of grapefruit , pine hopps , bitter hopps , and - body light watery , and medium carbonation– aftertaste of tar, hopps , and grapefruit KDorgan12 (163), Memphis, Tennessee, USA Jan 17, 2007 Draft-Memphis. Amber body with tight white head. It could have used a bit more malt balance. I thought I could feel the hop pellets as I drank. detroiter (958), Euphoria, Minnesota, USA Jan 15, 2007 Pours a clear golden amber, without much of a head of foam. What little bit is there dies away quickly. Minimal spotty lacing. Some floral hops in the aroma, not a whole lot. Not enough for an IPA.
Generic hop bitterness up front, slight malt flavor behind that. Nothing about this beer impresses me much, except there is a nice hop bitterness in the aftertaste. A little on the thin side.
I remember liking this beer a couple years ago, now I think I can safely skip it. Lots of better IPAs out there for the money, and to tell the truth, lots of better plain old pale ales too.
